Cinema display not working!

I can get my USB 2.0 adapter to work on an HP 1740 but when I try it with an apple cinema display it has distorted lines like the old spectrum games loading. The cinema display is not listed as a monitor but display link 1 is listed with a number of resolutions. I'm using 1.5b7 on an imac 2.8 GHz. Anybody have a solution for me?

I decided to buy a second USB 2.0 adapter. This time with a higher resolution (1600*1200) than the original (1200*1024). This one worked. It appears that display link will only work with apple cinema displays at the 1680*1050 resolution. Therefore if your adapter does not support this it will not work.
