Have to reboot Targus ACP70USZ

1 Attachment(s)
Every morning the adapter will work for a few seconds with mouse and keyboard but no monitor and will then stop working all together. Unplugging the USB and replugging usually gets the keyboard and mouse working again for a few seconds but then it will go out again, once again with no monitor working. I then unplug the power to the Targus adapter and plug it back in, plug in USB again and this works about 90% of the time. Occasionally a reboot of the PC and Targus will get it back to working again.

Logs attached.

Hi,

Can you try the latest Fresco USB 3.0 host controller driver from here?

Thanks,
James

I'm willing to try but I've had major issues with updating the driver in the past, but that may have been through Windows Updates. Hopefully I have better luck this time.

Update: Installed updated Fresco Logic USB 3.0 host controller, so far so good. Will upate again tomorrow morning. Thanks!

Update. Had the same issue this morning, but this time nothing worked at any time, no keyboard mouse or monitor.

Replace ACP70 Item 60 or lower

Targus is aware of a hardware issue that has recently been diagnosed with some ACP70 docks. This issue is most easily recognized in the Windows Device Manager where no USB Display Adapters and no Targus Giga Ethernet Network adapters are present. It is also when neither of the dock’s display ports or Ethernet ports work at all. The issue is intermittent and temperature dependent over time, showing up mostly at colder temperatures. Manufacturing has produced at ECN for a workaround for all newly manufactured docks but for deployed units that exhibit the misbehavior, please contact Targus for a free exchange.

Thanks for the reply, I will contact them about an RMA.

Is there an official link /refererence for this issue that I can give to Targus support as I have this problem on several ACP70EU docks and they keep coming back with update your drivers. How do I get the problem escalated so I can actually get a resolution?!

Swapping ACP70EU

M@rtin,

In American, its me. I am not sure of the process in the EU. But I have an email into my counter part in the UK and should have an answer for you soon.

Have you tried contacting the place of purchase?
