DisplayLink 1.1.62 and Ubuntu 16.04 problem
 

Hi All

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04 and have installed sudo ./displaylink-driver-1.1.62.run

When using System Settings > Screen Display, only my laptop monitor appears
Output from the support tool attached.

I've captured this output too:
lsusb -d 17e9:
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 17e9:436e DisplayLink
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 17e9:436e DisplayLink

ps -ef | grep display
root 3060 1 0 13:14 ? 00:00:10 /usr/lib/displaylink/DisplayLinkManager

Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like we have the same problem... But as I apparently am too new to this forum I cannot download your attachment and look for similarities/differences of our issues.

But what you briefly described sounds very familiar to me.

To check if we actually have the same issue, does your dmesg also repeart
"open /dev/fb0....
release /dev/fb0..."
(or something like that, can't double check atm)
over and over again?

May I also ask what device you want to use? In my case it's the MB169B+ mobile USB monitor from Asus.

This is what I see from dmesg:
$ dmesg | grep /dev/

I'm trying to get the output displayed on 2 acer K242HL monitors.

Looks like I am the only one experiencing this particular problem ^^

I do hope so myself and will update here as soon as I find a solution.

A few more things before I leave that might help an actual techy (sorry that I cannot help) figuring it out, are you using Nvidia graphics or something else?
I figure you are using some kind of hub to connect those two monitors to your computer, as I don't think that you need the displaylink drivers to directly connect them. Which hub do you use?
Might help narrowing it down.

I've got an nvidia geforce GTX graphics card and and hooking the laptop up to a Dell D3100 Video Docking Station
