Win7 64bit Blue Screen (ntfs.sys) after reload

Hi Folks,

I have a lenovo w510 and when I initially install the display link it worked great. I usually place my laptop in standy mode but today it was running slow so i tried to restart it. Now everytime win7 boots a get a blue screen with ntfs.sys file and that's it. I am not able to get into my pc

Restore to last good known configuration is the only way I can get back to windows and the issue is reproducible

Anyone seen this issue?

Plz help!

Will anyone reply to this post? HELLO DISPLAY LINK SUPPORT TEAM!! ARE YOU OUT THERE?

Here is some additional information on this issue:

System Details:
- Window 7 64bit Enterprise edition
- Lenovo W510
- Display Link product: UGA-2k-A http://plugable.com/products/uga-2k-a/
- Nvidia Drivers: 257.38 more info attached

Troubleshooting done: (after every step I had to restore to last good know configuration after pressing F8)
1. uninstall 5.5 and installed 5.6: still blue screen after OS reload
2. install 5.5 latest, did not plug in the UGA-2k-A yet, reloaded Window and the reload was successful. Connected external USB vga device and it was detected and activated, worked perfectly. Tried to reload windows again, and still got blue screen
3. booting into the safe mode works, did a full disk check on the c drive to try and recover the ntfs.sys file without success. When I reboot in safe mode I still get the blue screen when Win7 boots up

Conclusion:
The issue seems to be triggered when I plug the UGA-2k-A into the USB. Having the display-Link software and drivers installed without plugging the device does not cause a blue screen on system reload.

If this is a support forum then can someone reply to this post and explain what additional captures do you need for this issue to be resolved or should I return this device and buy a competitor external VGA?

I am attaching the blue-screen screenshot and the NVIDIO System Info Report::eek:

Contact Plugable Too

Hi Rema,

You have one of our adapters (Plugable Technologies) - so please feel free to come to us for support, rather than directly to DisplayLink. Email support@plugable.com anytime.

What you're doing with posting here is great, but we'll also be able to:

1) Make sure your not stuck with hardware that isn't working - if it looks like a problem that will take a while to solve (an updated driver), we're more than happy to process a refund until/if the problem you're seeing is solved
2) We'll follow-up with DisplayLink and track the progress, keeping you up to date.

Looking at your report here, there's a real problem and so we'll definitely be following up, whether you contact us or not. But we'd appreciate an email, so we can help you in the interim.

Thank you!
Bernie Thompson
