Audio on USB 3.0 with Mac Drivers (ML)

Will there be audio support for USB 3.0 ports in next driver releases?

(Makes no sense to switch to an USB 2.0 port to hear sound and switch back to an USB 3 port, to view the video ;)

Is there already a decision on supporting audio output on USB 3.0 ports? (This is needed to support USB 3.0 only MacBooks like MacBooks with Retina Display)

USB Audio on USB 3.0 OS X Bug

The Native Instruments Traktor audio interfaces had the same driver issue with USB 3.0 ports on OS X.

They have fixed it. Perhaps it is a similar issue with DisplayLink devices on USB 3.0 and OS X!?

The audio interfaces now working on USB-3.0-only Mac Books: Native Instruments Traktor Audio 2, 6 and 10.

USB 3.0 Audio Output fails on 10.8.4

Is there any news when audio over USB 3.0 will be fixed?

I thought I saw somewhere (a DisplayLink knowledgebase article?) that the problem largely was with MacOS, and was something that Apple needed to fix. Your previous comment about Traktor would seem to suggest otherwise -- would anyone from DL like to comment? Bueller? Bueller? ;-)

Well, just updated to OSX 10.8.4, and there's still no USB 3.0 audio love. Perhaps (if any OS bugs were fixed regarding this problem) there's something that the DisplayLink folks need to do...

Yep - we're currently raising this again with Apple at WWDC at the moment. We are actively trying to find a solution to make audio work on the Mac over USB 3.0, but blocked on an OS bug.

Good! Give 'em hell, Wim!

Curious what they said after you spoke with them? Crazy that the device shows up but just doesn't work. ;(

We're under NDA of course, as all developers are. I can say that we are working together and making progress. Both companies have incredibly talented Engineering teams so a solution can't be far!
