No USB ports on startup

Just set up a Targus 3.0 Superspeed dock. Generally seems to be working so far, except that on startup the USB ports on the dock are not working (dual video, ethernet, and sound DO work). I need to replug the USB to get them to work. During debugging I tried the following:

(1) Updated to the latest drivers using the "Check for updates..." option on notification area icon
(2) Tried with the dock connected to a 2.0 port as well as a 3.0 port
(3) Verified that the problem does not occur waking from sleep, coming out of hibernation, or on a restart - only when shutting down and then powering back up.

I have set the laptop (Dell Inspiron Quad I7) do "Do nothing"when the lid is closed and plugged in. I am powering up (and waking from sleep and coming out of hibernation) by opening the lid, pushing the power switch, and closing the lid immediately.

I've searched the forum and knowledgebase and haven't found my problem described.

Those are the DisplayLink parts of the dock, so it looks like our chip is working, but not the other USB hubs. I would suggest contacting Targus about this, as it is outside DisplayLink's technology.

OK, thanks. I didn't realize that the USB ports were separate from your chip and drivers...

I'm having the same problem - did you find a solution?

Targus customer support pointed me to:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

and updating the video driver fixed the problem.
