I can report that the same problem is occurring...

I can report that the same problem is occurring on mine. Surface Pro with the beta drivers, and the external monitor keeps displaying the last image from when I disconnected the USB 3.0 cable.

OK I've done more investigation and this issue is NOT caused by DisplayLink.

Rather, it appears to be a bug in Windows 8.1 where the scaling settings are inconsistent in the way they are applied....
