Hi,
I have for some days now tried to get my HP 3005pr USB3.0 to work with my laptop.
The laptop has a nvidia 1070 gpu and I have tried with both running nvidia nouveau and nvidia 378.13 drivers.
I have attached my latest suppor tool zip.
xrandr sees both devices:
Code:
$ xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 2
Provider 0: id: 0x1b9 cap: 0x1, Source Output crtcs: 4 outputs: 6 associated providers: 0 name:NVIDIA-0
Provider 1: id: 0x213 cap: 0x2, Sink Output crtcs: 1 outputs: 1 associated providers: 0 name:modesetting
xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0 - Do not seem to to anything other than making another provicder?
Code:
$ xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 1 0
$ xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 3
Provider 0: id: 0x1b9 cap: 0x1, Source Output crtcs: 4 outputs: 6 associated providers: 1 name:NVIDIA-0
Provider 1: id: 0x213 cap: 0x2, Sink Output crtcs: 1 outputs: 1 associated providers: 1 name:modesetting
Provider 2: id: 0x213 cap: 0x2, Sink Output crtcs: 1 outputs: 1 associated providers: 1 name:modesetting
$ xrandr --setprovideroutputsource 2 0
$ xrandr --listproviders
Providers: number : 3
Provider 0: id: 0x1b9 cap: 0x1, Source Output crtcs: 4 outputs: 6 associated providers: 1 name:NVIDIA-0
Provider 1: id: 0x213 cap: 0x2, Sink Output crtcs: 1 outputs: 1 associated providers: 1 name:modesetting
Provider 2: id: 0x213 cap: 0x2, Sink Output crtcs: 1 outputs: 1 associated providers: 1 name:modesetting
If I connect the 2nd monitor to the built-in mini-displayport on the computer, the screen lits up, but I need the two extra ports from the displaylink adapter to get in total 3 large monitors.
If I boot to windows10, all monitors starts ups, so the device itself works fine.
Any tips to what I could try, or even better. Any pointers to get this to work
