Evdi kernal module no signature
Hey,
I just installed ubuntu today because i want to practice a bit more with linux (i now have a basic understanding of the terminal and basic commands like cd, mv and mkdir) . Before i had windows 10 installed and everything worked like a charm. When i installed the driver in ubuntu i had the problem of the last 2 lines not being presentthis is what should be there according to the tutorial) Starting DLM upstart job displaylink start/running, process 3397 So i did a bit of digging on google and figured that this might be my problem: http://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64788 (The evdi kernal module has no signature) So it gives you two options: 1. Disable secure boot 2. Sign the module yourself So i went to the BOIS of my pc and couldn't find the secure boot option. Well appearantly the pc i am using has no secure boot option.... So i moved on to the second option and tried the link they provided. But i really don't understand anything they say in that file. Could anyone maybe explain a bit what to do exactly in order to sign the module? Thanks in advance! |

The screenshot shows an installation of an older version of the driver which then targetted Ubuntu 14.04 and upstart for managing daemon lifetime. Today, it's systemd so this is why you are missing two last lines.
Is the dock working after connecting it? Cheers, Michal |
