As DisplayLink mentioned that the bug is on Lenovos side I did open a thread in their support forum, too Here is the link to it - Feel free to post there, too as obviously nobody seems to care.

Toshiba PA3927A-1PRP
I have long suffered with this issue for years, time to speak up !!!
DisplayLink device is Toshiba Dynadock PA3927A-1PRP. Computer Intel i7, 16 GB RAM, so computer power is not an issue OS is Win10Pro x64 fully updated Don't suggest any of these I have already tried it ! .... Replace Dynadock Multiple versions of driver from 8.1 to latest 9.3 M1, plus Windows Update driver Update Firmware Different computer Format/clean install Windows New USB cables, new monitor cables Adapter HDMI port to VGA Reset factory defaults several times Replaced all connected peripherals 2 monitors, mouse, kb, webcam, speakers If I connect all peripherals direct to computer, no issues Last edited by tannum99; 03-08-2020 at 06:53 PM. |

Possible Fix?
Yesterday Lenovo released a new firmware for the USB -C Hybrid dock, wich can be found here:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/DS504448 The changelog sounds promising as I have connected the external Displays via a DP to DVI Adapter: Cypress FW: [V0.2.68] 2019/11/13 1. Fixed external monitor attached on dock no display or light up slowly if connected through DP to DVI dongle(lenovo PN43N9159). 2. Optimize LED breathe more smoothly. Billboard: [BB R38] 2020/01/13 1. Fixed external monitor attached on dock no display or light up slowly if connected through DP to DVI dongle(lenovo PN43N9159). VIA HUB : [Hub1 5543, Hub2 5544 ] 2020/1/3 1. Fixed external monitor attached on dock no display or light up slowly if connected through DP to DVI dongle(lenovo PN43N9159). 2. Fixed USB2 doesn’t functional intermittently when work with ThinkPad X280. 3. Fixed USB hub FW update failure while full loading when work with ThinkPad T480. |

I've done some more work on this....
Not a fix, but a workaround Went to Toshiba/Dynadock downloads for Toshiba drivers for PA3927A-1PRP https://support.dynabook.com/support...ext=1200014770 Latest driver there is 8.2 dated June 2017 Unplugged Dynadock Removed current driver 9.3 M1 Reboot Install Toshiba/Dynadock ver 8.2 driver Connect Dynadock Works and stable !!!! But ..... Windows update updated the driver to 9.2 and issues returned Removed 9.2 driver Re-Installed Toshiba/Dynadock 8.2 Now stable again So then prevented Windows driver updates : Control Panel. System and Security. Click System. Click Advanced system settings from the left sidebar. Select the Hardware tab. Press the Device Installation Settings button. Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button. So now driver 8.2 is locked in and stable Not a fix, but a workaround with a driver almost 3 years old I believe this clearly demonstrates a driver issue Toshiba / Dynadock / Displaylink Please investigate why drivers later than 8.2 are failing UPDATE: Now stable 10 days with Toshiba driver version 8.2 Compared to previously crashing multiple times a day Toshiba / Dynadock / Displaylink please respond Last edited by tannum99; 03-21-2020 at 06:49 PM. |

Same problem here
Brand new HP Spectre x360 with Plugable UD-ULTC4K docking station.
Running Windows 10 with most recent 9.3M1 DL driver. Only have two monitors connected via DP -> HDMI, Ethernet, and USB-C to host. The docking station drivers are crashing multiple times a day with even ID 10110 and 10111, sometimes even crashing my laptop. These DisplayLink docking stations and drivers are quite disappointing compared to those I have owned in the past. Any solution yet, or are the DisplayLink and the manufacturers still pointing fingers at eacho other and/or ignoring the issue? |

They are ignoring. See my previous post. Basically I have proved this is a driver issue. The silence is deafening !
Have you tried my workaround ? Go to HP website for latest HP drivers. Install that driver, then prevent Windows driver updates. Worked for me ! |

Thanks tannum99 - I have just installed the driver you recommended to see if it helps resolve my issue as well. I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and solution, especially given DisplayLink's lack of response and resolution of the issue.
I have been working with Plugable on this issue, and must say that their support has been great. They believe this issue is uncommon, but affects a number of DisplayLink-based docking stations with a few different DisplayLink chipsets. From what I understand, DisplayLink has been made aware of the issue but has not released a fix, and may basically be ignoring the issue because they don't consider it to be common enough to be a priority. For anyone else experiencing the issue, please help to escalate this by raising a fuss! For me, this driver crash occasionally causes my laptop to crash and reboot as well. I'll likely end up having to return my docking station, as losing work due to a crashing laptop is not acceptable. I have been using DisplayLink devices for probably 7 or 8 years now, and have upgraded as each new chipset has been released. I am disappointed that I am forced to backtrack to my older DisplayLink hardware, or to look for a more reliable multi-monitor solution now. |
