Post How to remove existing drivers in safe mode

Anticipating a new build for 10.7 shortly, for those of us who are having the window server bug, how do we remove the drivers in safe mode?

Specifically which kexts do we need to remove, etc? Would be awesome if someone could post the files that need removing, and if any other commands (like deleting the kext cache etc) that need to be run.

The two main files are /System/Library/Extensions/DisplayLinkDriver.kext and DisplayLinkGA.plugin.
You should also have an uninstaller in /Applications/DisplayLink and in the disk image.

When the system realizes that a kext has changed or been removed or added, the kextcache is automatically regenerated. No user interaction required there.

Oh yes sorry for not answering to that, thank you jbarrow.
Apple suggests to run 'touch' on the Extensions folder to make sure this happens. Then the OS is supposed to recreate all the correct cache files. And since some time back in the Leopard days actually manages to do so!

I have seen login hangs and other instabilities so I want to completely uninstall DisplayLink drivers from my OS X Lion installation. I think I have gone through the right steps (ran uninstall, deleted the files mentioned in the previous post) but I am still seeing a lot of messages like the ones below in Console. Doesn't look normal to me. I am relatively new to OS X so explicit steps please. TKIA!
