Default external display lock up periodically

I have 4 external displays connected using USB DisplayLink adapter. The other two are connected directly to mac-mini. Once in 2-3 days all 4 USB connected displays just freeze. I have to reboot the machine to get them live again. Other two displays function OK and machine is fine overall.

MacOS 1.8.5.
DisplayLink driver 2.2.

Any idea what can be wrong?

I'd first of all check that all the adapters have all the power they need. A powered hub with a good power supply goes a long way in multiple device configurations.
Then try to swap them around and see if there are any patterns and hardware faults.
Finally try to connect incrementally to understand if there are any system/driver limitation.

Ok, I will try a powered USB hub. It does look like the hub is flaky because as I touch it and wiggle the cables the displays start to blink.

Thanks for the tip!
