win7pro 64 "Unknown Device" after long time working.

Hi,

I Have a USB-HDMI device and it have worked well for weeks but now suddenly it does not work anymore. When I Plug the device in the USB-Port i get that a device could not be installed (Unknown device in device manager).

Have tried uninstalling the driver+software, reboot, install but no success.

Is it a hardware error in the device? Or is it a Windows 7/Driver issue?

edit: I Now tested on another computer and i have the same issue here.. the hardware error does feel close.. or? .

Hi johanb2b,

It's definitely not Windows 7/Driver issue. The logs shows the device as "not found" hence no surprise it doesn't appear in the device manager. It's bizarre that it has suddenly stopped working alhough it does look like HW issue and the fact that it didin't work in another setup either, proves it.
