Software not compatible with mapped drives?? HELP!

I purchased a targus universal dispaly port and installed the display port software. It works GREAT on my home laptop but when I switch to my work laptop I am having issues and need help. My company uses some technology for mapping drives/links on the web that uses a generic path to the folder tha way no matter what server it is located on (files get moved around daily due to sizes and service work) the link will work. When display link software is installed none of my mapped drives will work and I cannot access any paths on our intranet. When I remove it, works fine. Anything I can do to make this work. I really love this device but if I cannot figure this out I have to return it. Thanks for your help!
