Default 8.3 M0 release - DLUI GDI objects query

Hi.

In the ReadMe notes for DisplayLink for Windows 8.3 M0 there is mention of a fix for the issue:

"DLUI GDI objects increasing (25405)"

The explanation is rather vague. Is that a fix for a GDI leak ? (which would ultimately result in screen redraws failing over a period of time and/or application crashes)

Hello,

Yes, the number of objects was increasing on replugs (USB or monitor), not with time by itself.

DLUI stands for DisplayLink User Interface. DLUI would not be present on Windows Update installations from Windows 10 Anniversary Update onwards, but is part of the other OSes and distribution means.

Kind regards,
Alban

Default Affect Windows version

Can I clarify which versions of Windows are impacted by this issue please ? Is it just Windows 8.1 or is Windows 10 also impacted ?

Potentially Windows 7 - Windows 10 Threshold 2.
Not Windows 10 Redstone 1 onwards.

But, it would require many, many, reconnects to experience the issue as objects increase only during these. This was discovered with automated testing which does exactly that stress test.
