Default Display Link Video Sotped working

Hello

Hello

I have a windows 10 Machine. External monitors are not showing up on any of my display link devices. I’ve tried 3 separate ones. I have update with the latest driver with no luck. Any advice ? Attached are the diagnostic logs.

Thanks

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

Thank you for the logs. Unfortunately, because the cleaner was used, there is nothing.
The driver does not start because no device is detected connected by Windows so Windows doesn't assign any driver.
There is only a leftover of one device in Device Manager, partially installed.

It is very low level and not driver related as the driver is not invoked at all. Are these all Targus devices? If so which model and ITEM# at the bottom?
Does it work with a USB2 cable or a USB2 only port?
You need to get your device to show in Device Manager for Windows to select our driver for it. http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...rticles/544834

Kind regards,
Alban

Default Usb 2.0

It does work with a USB 2.0 Cable.. What are the next steps to get it working with 3.0 ?

Default Thats Messed Up

Once I used a USB 2.0 cable it all started working again. I then tried the USB 3.0 cable and Bingo. Everything works. That's strange its as it wouldn't recognize the dock until I plugged in a 2.0 cable

All good now. Thanks

Ok, I will close the ticket then. Thank you for letting me know.

If you wish to know the root cause, we can look into it with the answer to my previous questions.

Being unable to communicate with the device wasn't allowing to update it. Now, with USB 2, you got it recovered so it can talk even if the interface can be still missing and it could only have shifted the issue until next update.
