Default Issue with the 6.3 drivers, win8 build 8400 and a Diamond Vstream

I just installed win8 build 8400 this morning, and I tried installing the drivers that came with the Diamond Vstream that I use for wireless HDMI. The installer pointed to the website correctly, and instead of using the packaged displaylink core, I downloaded the 6.3 version from the website that said it was compatible with Windows 8. That ran, and now in the wireless USB manager I can see the dongle plugged into the system, but it won't connect to the base. I did see the note about base graphics drivers-this system is using the Intel HD graphics family driver (WDDM 1.2)-it's on a Samsung tablet from last year's BUILD conference if that helps (which is basically identical to the series 7). Any idea what's going on here? Anything else that might help track down the issue?

Thanks!

Chris
