Default AMD RX480 and Asus MB169B+ not connecting

Ubuntu 16.04 with an AMD RX480 graphics card, the latest DisplayLink driver, plugging in an Asus MB169B+ monitor and it's not connecting.
Definitely using USB 3 port on this desktop PC.
Have latest AMD's AMDGPU-Pro graphics driver.

On my Lenovo T430 running Ubuntu 16.04, the monitor is working perfectly using the latest DisplayLink driver.

I've added the support tool output, let me know if there's anything else required.

If you are using the closed-source AMD graphics driver, that won't work. DisplayLink mention this in their knowledge base article here -> http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...ubuntu-support

Ah, my bad. That's clear in the docs.

I've uninstalled the AMD driver, rebooted and am now using the Gallium on llvmpipe driver.
For good measure re-installed the DisplayLink driver.

Plugged the monitor into the USB 3 port, ASUS logo appears then goes black screen, still not visible in System Settings to enable.

I've uploaded the latest support info based on using the Gallium driver.
