Default Ethernet data speed

What should the data speed be through the DisplayLink dock be? I have an Ethernet connection that measures 60 Mbps if connected direct to Ethernet cable, but if I plug cable into the dock and connect through the USB3.0, my download speed is only about 12 Mbps. Is this right?

And now I've upgraded to the latest release of 7.7 and my connected download speed is 9 megabits/second. However upload speed is 24 megabits/sec. If I connect directly to the Ethernet port on my computer I can get the full 60 megabits/sec. What's going on? Any help here?

I think that this is the very common problem because intermediate devices very often reduce speed according to its own restrictions.
