Default Problem installing UGA USB Display Adapter driver for the first time

I am having problems installing UGA USB Display Adapter driver for the first time

Running Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit
Recently completed clean reinstall of all systems & applications
Running 2 monitors (require a 3rd monitor)

Ran DisplayLink System Compatibility Check V7.6 M0 - Passed
Had no success installing from DVD or Windows7 update

Therefore installing latest version of software through the DisplayLink website
DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows* V7.6 M0

Problem: 11 same error messages:
Could not write value MirrorDriver to key \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DisplayLinkGA\D evice 1.
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key

Installed & reinstalled a number of times with same result
Appreciate any ideas please

This sounds like the installer does not have the required permissions to install. Could you try v7.5 M2 from our website instead to see if this installs, and will tell us if this is a regression.

Thanks

Wim

Thanks Win for your reply, I tried v7.5 M2 as you recommended, no success, the same error messages appeared.
I also tried with my anti virus software turned off, extracted .exe file for the driver installer to Run as Administrator and assigned permissions to a registry key to everyone. What next?
