Hi,

Can you try disabling the Nvidia graphics card through the BIOS or through device manager (see attached image)?

If you get no joy with that please attach the latest support files (the ones you uploaded yesterday show that the older DisplayLink software and older USB 3.0 host controller driver are still installed).

Thanks,
James

Are you sure your software upgrades are both good as the reboot seems to stall. Hard reset and then it goes the second time. Anyway they are both installed, Nivida display disabled and still nothing.
Could it just be the power supply to the adaptor?

Richard

PS still struggling with the restarts

The start up repair seems to have cleared itself of errors (famours last words) and as far as I can see managed to retain your software/driver upgrades - but I am no expert. However when I plug in the DisplayLink adaptor, I still get USB not recognised error. Anyway the very latest support file is attached.

Could it be that the power supply part of the adaptor has failed and hence on monitor and ethernet function? Is there anyway to check it? I do get 5V at the power lead because I can measure that, but how can we be sure the power supply inside is functional

At what point do we give up and I get a refund for a non-working system?

Richard

Sorry had to re-enable the video card so that I could connect the second screen via the HDMI port.

Have you looked at the data I sent? Can I get this adaptor checked/repaired under waranty as feel there is something wrong internally

No sign of JamesH for ages. Is it because I mentioned warranty claim?

Does anybody else know how to test is it is the power supply within the display adaptor that is faulty?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Can you try the following?

1. Disconnect your dock from your notebook, disconnect your dock from the mains, uninstall the DisplayLink software, run the cleaner tool from here http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297, reinstall the DisplayLink software from here http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.php, reconenct your dock to the mains and lastly reconnect your dock to your notebook

2. Run through the steps in this FAQ: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=370

Whilst the FAQ refers to a different issue to that which you are having the steps to check are relevant to your issue.

3. Check out the Microsoft troubleshooter from here:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/w...th-usb-devices

Let me know you get on.

Thanks,
James
