Default Application fail with ArcMap

We have some HP notebooks with Intel Graphics. They run Arcmap (GIS Software) fine. That is until they get plugged into a Targus dock with DisplayLink graphics. then is fails.

If I use the tool from the DisplayLink site that disables the DisplayLink driver it works (but of course just on the built in display)

All drivers are up to date.

Any ideas? I can provide logs if required.

In what way does it fail? Some of these GPU intensive programs talk directly to the graphics hardware and do not go through Windows.

Simply fails to open - crashes on start.

A related config program also fails, but gives some better error messages that seem to indicate the program cannot determine the color palette.

No - we never got it working and gave those users different laptops.
