10.7.2 Seems to Help
I posted this in the Mac forum also, but 10.7.2 seems to help with DisplayLink performance quite a bit.

MacBook Pro, late 2008?
Does anybody know whether the issues that occurred on older machines (with NVidia cards) have been solved with this update?

The 10.7.2 update from Apple today does seem to help with a lot of the problems users were seeing.
Please download and install the 10.7.2 update before reporting any further bugs on Lion. We do know that the dragging of Windows issue still seems to be present in 10.7.2 and we are reopening this bug with Apple so it gets attention.
