No DisplayLink monitors on Windows 10 anniversary update on Mac Bootcamp
Hi AlbanRampon,
I also experience black screen after the Windows 10 anniversary update. Windows 10 running on Apple Macbook Air bootcamp. ThinkPad USB 3.0 dock. Two external monitors connected. Everything works fine unless Windows 10 anniversary update a few days ago. Then both external monitors went dark. System does not detect these monitors. Other functions of the ThinkPad USB 3,0 dock works fine after the Windows 10 anniversary update, i.e. USB drive and network etc. Have tried to update Apple software. Have tried the following steps: - Disconnect ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock - Remove DisplayLink Core Software - Use End User Cleaner tool - Install new ThinkPad 3.0 USB driver from https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/pd023761. It is released on Aug 31, 2016 and contains DisplayLink Core Software 8.0.778.0 (DisplayLink 8.0 M2) according to the release note. Still no good. FYI the Device Manager\Display Adapter shows an exclamation mark by the ThinkPad USB 3,0 Dock entry. Status Detail in Property says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". Log file attached. Please help look into this. Thanks. |

Hello Daniel,
I've moved your post to a new thread. The issue you are experiencing doesn't look like something we can fix from the DisplayLink driver. I analysed the calling stack of the memory dump files included in the log files. The issue is the OS part of the driver (new in Anniversary Update) is failing at the initialisation. In the older versions of the DisplayLink driver, we had a kernel mode driver but not anymore because Windows does it. Would you please report on the ticket you have created with new logs after you've installed the development build? If the symptoms persists and I will use the new logs/dumps to make a report to Microsoft. Kind regards, Alban Ref 23882+5382 - WUDFHost DMP OsKmdFailedInit on RS1 via Mac Bootcamp - Code 43

Hello Daniel,
I've been informed you are using a piece of software intercepting the calls between the OS and DirectX. That driver is called OS Base. Can you please either update or remove that software if it doesn't have Windows 10 Anniversary Update supported version? Kind regards, Alban

For people who have this and don't remember about OBASE, please check if you have been using Duet Display as their older driver also create that crash in Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
Please use their newer driver which is compatible with Windows 10 Anniversary Update indirect displays like DisplayLink USB graphics.
