Unhappy Latest Displaylink Version for VGA-165 is buggy

I have an Acer Aspire 5732z notebook pc with the Intel 4 Express Series Chipset.

I am currently running Displaylink version 6.1.32700.0, as seen in the device manager properties window. Is this the latest version for Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)?

Intel says I have the latest chipset driver (version 8.15.10.1892 from 9/2/2009), and Windows Update say both the Intel and Displaylink drivers are the latest.

I ask because I have been getting random black screens that take about 30 seconds to recover, and unplugging all USB devices and going portable takes several minutes to recover when I return to my multi-monitor setup. Yesterday I had display corruption that I fixed by turning the monitor off and on in the Displaylink icon.

Am I correct in assuming that these are the latest versions, and that I am seeing unresolved bugs in the USB-VGA-165 hardware or software?

Anyone else seeing this?

Default Versions

Hi Brad,

Sorry we didn't catch your post here on DisplayLink's site earlier.

We don't recommend staying on 6.0 or 6.1 series drivers.

You'll want to grab the latest version (6.2 M2), available here:
http://displaylink.com/support/downloads.php

And just email support@plugable.com if you have any trouble with that version - we'll be able to help.

Thanks!
