Smile Mac default brightness / contrast?

Greetings:

Yosemite 10.10.5 + AOC E1659FW + DL 2.4

I've read the following thread:
http://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63817

... and understand that there are no brightness / contrast control for Mac at the moment.

I'm curious as to what the default "built-in" settings are for mac brightness and contrast? With Windows we have the DL Manager controls for comparison. With Mac, I have no way of knowing. Is the display defaulted to half max like Windows was or set brighter?

To be honest, it seem bright enough (brighter than the Windows default), but I have no way of knowing if it could be brighter. I tried Shades as a third-party tool to change the brightness but nothing happened when changing the slider.

Could someone confirm the default levels of brightness and contrast on Mac for DisplayLink devices? Maxed out or no?

Thanks.

PS : My USB monitor is working great with DisplayLink on Mac so far. My only gripe is lack of configurability (brightness / contrast). Looking forward to these features!
