I have the same exact issue. Not every time I minimize iTunes but at least 75% of the time. I scoured the web for hours today hoping to find someone else with this issue.

This seems to be a trend since v2.3 of the driver had the same issue when i updated to Yosemite.

PLEASE FIX THIS! I use my MacBook Air in clamshell mode with two external displays for my home office setup and my productivity was literally cut in half now that I have this issue again.

I wish my MacBook Air had a second Mini DisplayPort but it doesn't, so I have to use a DisplayLink adapter instead. It's great when it works but since I upgraded to El Capitan last night it just doesn't work anymore.

EDIT:

My specs are as follows:

2014 MacBook Air using a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter made by Cable Matters utilizing the DisplayLink chipset running the 2.4 driver. I have two HP LV2311 monitors, one connected using my DisplayLink adapter and the other using an Apple Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter. iTunes logs me out regardless of which monitor I have it running on.

Running El Capitan Beta 10.11.1 (15B22c) and the 2.4 driver is working for me.

If iTunes is open on the ACER screen and the window is minimized, I also have the issue with being logged out.

Hi All,

The user log out is due to the Window Server crashing. Apple has fixed in El Capitan a very similar defect triggered by full screen transitions for Mission Control (and similar) but this issue is still open.
DisplayLink are not in control of the Window Server and cannot resolve this issue.
Please open a bug on bugreporter.apple.com about this defect, attaching your system profile collected immediately after the issue has happened.

Best regards,
Carlo

Default Only works with reboot

I'm on a 2014 15" Macbook Pro and I can only get the displays to work if I reboot my laptop. If the Mac was asleep and I plug into the DisplayLink, the Mac won't detect the monitors.

The network and USB connections of the DisplayLink are working fine. It's just the monitors that won't light-up.

Rebooting the Mac and then plugging in solves the problem. As people have asked earlier in this thread, is there a 2.5 driver coming out that fixes these issues? Everything worked find with Yosemite.

Default 10.11.2 Beta OK So Far

Been running 10.11.2 Beta for several days now. Still have DisplayLink 2.5 Beta 2 installed. Am not seeing any problems.

Just installed 2.5 Beta with Macbook Pro/El Capitan (10.11.1).
Don't have any crashes, monitor is being detected by mackbook's wake up.
But the system window headers look weird (see attachments).
Is this some temporary bug (since we use beta) or the "normal" behavior?

The system won't let me view your thumbnail, but I think you have a purple gradient - go into accesibility options and check the box for "reduce transparency"

It wasn't basically the purple gradient, but gradient itself. I did have color problem too but solved it by changing color profile. But thanks, this tip helped me!

Default DisplayLink not working with El Capitan

Last week I upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.1 on an iMac. We currently have two displays setup from the iMac. Display Port going to VGA to the main projector and then USB to DVI Display Adapter going to a secondary Plasma TV. The main display looks fine but the Plasma TV has crazy green lines and is pretty much unusable. I tried uninstalling the DisplayLink driver and installing both 2.4 as well as the 2.5 Beta and both yield the same result.

If I bypass the Display Adapter, the Plasma TV looks fine.

I went to BestBuy and purchased a J5 USB to HDMI Display Adapter and it is showing the same issue as well.

I can't seem to figure this one out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
