Exclamation 5.3b2 woes on intel 650 system

Hello

At have I have two PCs: Dell Studio XPS 1340 laptop (Nvidia G9500) and a newer home built HTPC with Asus P7H55 EVO, using an Core i5-650 with on board GFX. Displays are laptop screen, Sony Bravia over HDMI for the HTPC, LG206WU over displaylink, and mino UM-740 over displaylink. Both machines run Win 7x64.

I've got 5.3b2 on both machines. Btw the date and driver version do not match the numbers on your sticky post, I get 24/2/2010, and 5.3.23615, as in the .inf file in the DisplayLink 5.3b2.zip file:
DriverVer=02/24/2010,5.3.23615.0

On the Dell laptop using either one or both of the display link monitors works like a charm.

On the HTPC it's not good. The LG206WU is fine, but the Mimo device doesn't work. It is detected, but when ever I try and extend the desktop to it, all I get is a blank screen. Even with the primary display set to the HDMI output, the desktop gets moved to the UM-740 but nothing is displayed.

Will follow up this post with the debugging tool output.

In the words of victor meldrew...I don't believe it. Just plugged in the UM740 into the HTPC and run the debugging tool and it has sprung into life...

Will do more testing to see whether it is stable.

Default Wows continue...

Spoke too soon. The UM740 doesn't always appear as a display, however the touchpanel always does work.

Debug log attached.

More information:

After about a week, of working there is clearly an problem in the driver. On two different machines, with different cables etc, the monitor will loose display connectivity and display un-synch'ed video (static). If it fairly reliable to trigger this by changing the monitor settings in Windows. For example

Stage 1) Have Desktop showing on laptop and external screen
Stage 2) Plug in UM740 - Desktop appears across all monitors
Stage 3) Disable display on laptop screen - Display turns off on laptop screen fine, but UM-740 display borked.
Stage 4) Unplug UM-740 and re-insert to no avail. Screen still borked.

(Borked not a great technical term, will take some photos).

My LG206WU is rock solid, but I do not connect/disconnect this.

Can make hardware available to your UK teams for testing if needed.

symptoms happen with LG206UW as well - i.e. when re-configuring displays using the Windows 7 Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution tool, display output to DisplayLink devices fails across 2 machines with different GFX.

Further details:

Mimo monitor reliably fails to come out of screen-saver. Photo attached. Unplugging and replugging fixes this.

Something similar for me. After updating to 5.3 the Mimo 740 doesn't show a picture after start-up. After repluging the USB the picture is there but only until the next reboot.
