Why can't both my devices support 1650x1050?
I have 2 USB to VGA adapters which externally identify themselves as WS-UGA12D1. They were bought at different times and the external serial numbers are significantly different (WS000300097 and 3000400208).
The debug tool however, identifies them as follows: Serial Number: USB_0198-450359 FW Version: 00.04 Product: WS Tech USB-DVI Vendor: DisplayLink Status is (F0005000):ASIC Library: 0x0106, SVN status: Clean, SVN Revision 9971 Serial Number: USB_500365 FW Version: 00.15 Product: WS Tech USB-DVI Vendor: DisplayLink Status is (F1005001):ASIC Library: 0x0224, SVN status: Dirty, SVN Revision 12991 Now, using the same display (Dell 2009W, 1650x1050 on DVI connection), the USB_0198-450359 with apparently older firmware (0.04) supports 1650x1050, while the other device will only display 1440x900 on the same monitor. How do I get them both to display 1650x1050? Can I change the firmware? is there a 'force' option? Or is it a hardware difference and I'm just stuck with it unless I get a newer device? I'm running 5.4b1 under Windows 7. Thanks. |
