Complete incompatibility with 10.6.4
Hey guys,
Just wanted to drop a quick line. I just installed the 10.6.4 update released by Apple a few hours ago, and when you reboot the computer is completely unusable with Displaylink installed. Instead of the log-in screen, you are presented with horizontal lines going across your screen. The way to fix this (for the rush of people who will have this problem ): Reboot your computer Hold the Shift key while booting to boot into Safe Boot Uninstall the DisplayLink in Applications/DisplayLink Reboot, and you should be OK, but DisplayLink-less. |

This might be specific to your hardware configuration. I updated to 10.6.4 just a moment ago and everything is running fine here with my late 2006 Mac Mini.

FYI
Just updated my MBP i7 17" with 10.6.4 and everything seems to be working... Two external monitors - DVI-1680x1050 through miniDisplayPort and Analog through Sewell mini-deck adapter 1680x1050 using the DisplayLink 1.6b2 drivers. Booting in 32-bit kernel for VPN compatibility and using Parallels 5.0.9350. Using gfxCardStatus v1.7.5 with NVIDIA only selected. |

MacOSX 10.6.4 update with DL 1.6b2 works for me - using (white) MacBook2,1
Still have problems with hibernation sleep/wakeup and Clamshell mode - but that is not another loooooong and boring case. |

It isn't working with my iMac 24" 2.4Ghz Extreme after upgrading to 10.6.4
All I get is a blank screen on my displaylink monitor. I did tried to uninstall and reinstall 1.6b2 driver, but it doesn't work. OSX can detect my screen and the OS thinks that it's working, but the monitor displays nothing. Last edited by lerico; 06-21-2010 at 04:21 PM. |

Dammit...I have an iMac with Nvidia GT 120....I was hoping to upgrade to 10.6.4 this week, but it sounds like I need to hold off until a fix comes from Displaylink.
