Dual Monitors Mirroring
Setup:
MacBook Pro 13" (2017), Latest Mac OS Catalina 10.15.6 Dell WD15 Dock, connected via USB-C to Macbook (latest firmware) 2x Benq GW2480 Monitors, one connect to WD15 via HDMI, the other DP Latest DisplayLink App & Drivers installed Issue: The external monitors are mirroring and I want to extend The Display system panel only shows the laptop screen and one external display Plugging the USB-C into my Windows laptop worked perfectly, I could extend to all 3 monitors (2 external, and 1 laptop) How can I extend across all 3 using my Macbook? Note: the DisplayLink menu icon screen shows "No Monitor Detected" in Connection status. Not sure if that is relevant. |

Just FYI, the Dell WD15 dock does not use DisplayLink.
It uses DP Over USB-C and it's not gonna work with multiple (extended) monitors cause macOS does not currently support DisplayPort MST. |

Dang! Thanks for the reply. Do you know if there is a plan for MacOS to enable this?
Would this be possible if one of the monitors was using VGA? What dock's would you recommend instead, out of interest? Last edited by lgee; 07-22-2020 at 11:30 AM. |

People have been complaining about the lack of MST for a while. There's no official ETA or anything like that.
Using VGA won't help. Not even sure what to recommend. Up until recently I was happily using my (DisplayLink) Dell D6000 dock to drive multiple monitors. However, lately I've had driver problems with this setup and judging by this forum I'm not the only one. If DisplayLink (at some point) manages to fix their shit then that would be a great option. If you're willing to spend some extra then a Thunderbolt dock + multiple TB monitors would probably work as well. |

Hey is your D6000 still working? I'm in the same boat as you with the WD15.

I had the same problem with another dock (Vava?). I swapped it out for a Totu TT-DC002A connected with DisplayLink cables and it works well. I have a small issue with the screen contents swapping left for right in a 3 screen setup whenever it is plugged in, but otherwise it is a dream. I searched around a lot and know it takes the right dock to do the 2-3 screen extended desktop mode in MacOS.

I have a MBP 2017 running Catalina, and I want my two dell monitors to run different streams. Is this at all possible? I'm confused about differing opnions here, maybe some photos of your setup could help if you got it to work? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions |
