1080p Not Anymore
Hi all. I recently purchased a usb to dvi adapter so I could use it from my laptop to my HDTV. However when I set the output to 1080p my TV said no signal. Last night however, the tv started to detect the 1080p signal and it was amazing. However this morning it has gone back to not detecting it.
What could have changed? |

Hi
Assuming that the software is still seeing an extended display and thinks it is rendering to the adapter (is there an LED lit up on the adapter?) then I guess the signals are "on the edge". Are you using a long HDMI/DVI cable, which would reduce the signal quality? I suspect there is signal degradation between the adapter and the TV, so the TV is hit and miss on seeing the signal. Thanks Wim |

It's a 6 foot long HDMI cable. What are my alternatives?

I've had this happen no matter the cable to a TV of my own. Try it on another device and see what happens. Both another TV and try with another computer.
