Performance Issues
I recently purchased a Dell D3100 to drive 2 external monitors off of my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro and the system is slow!! Is there anything I can do to optimize the performance before I send this unit back?

I just signed up here in this board since the performance issue "Dell Notebook + D3100 + 2 monitors" is following me for years now. I went through the really bad beginning when it was a horror to keep the setting performant for more than a couple days. Dell and Display Link were releasing patches and so on. I still see performance interruptions every once in a while. Just today I found out (using Process Explorer), that the Windows component "WUDFHost.exe" utilizes my GPU over a USB-Device (USB\VID_17E9&PID_436E&MI_00\7&2F8F5B49&0&0000;USB \VID_17E9&PID_436E&MI_00\7&155C2513&0&0000;USB\VID _17E9&PID_436E&MI_01\7&2F8F5B49&0&0001;USB\VID_17E 9&PID_436E&MI_01\7&155C2513&0&0001). I checked with "USB Device Tree Viewer) and found the connection to D3100. Using Google I landed here: https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=66741 https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=66729 And if you do some research here in the board you will find even more on the D3100: https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...t=d3100&page=5 https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...ighlight=d3100 Both topics were not processed since 2019 but point in the same direction. As you can see, others are struggling with this wonderful piece of IT. If you would like you can go ahead and participate here and share your experiences. Or you might as well do as you suggested: Return the D3100 Docking Station and probably save you a lot of anger. Regards Daniel Last edited by Daniel_GER; 05-19-2020 at 01:20 PM. |
