Default Monitor positions Surface Pro dock USB adapters

Hi,

On Windows 10 prior to 1607 anniversary update we were successfully using Surface Pro 4's with docking port attached to 2 USB enabled monitors plus 2 USB adapters to DVI monitors.

Positions of the screens was remembered on each dock disconnect and connect along with the fact that they were extended, not duplicated monitors.

Now, after 1607 and DisplayLink v8, the monitor positions are not remembered and also the monitors are randomly, but mostly set to all duplicate the laptop.

It's a major pain in the rear as this happens on connect, disconnect, reboot and log off.

Is there going to be a resolution to this, or is this going to stay being the behaviour of DisplyLink connection from now on?

Thanks

Hello,

This is not something I have heard about before.
Monitor layout and resolutions is stored centrally by Windows based on all monitor serial numbers connected at a particular time regardless of what they are connected through.

May be the display persistence keys in Windows are corrupted.
Would you please try the following instructions to force monitor rediscovery?

You will have to set it when you reconnect the displays after deleting the registry keys, but, if that works, it should be the last time.

Kind regards,
Alban
