Windows 10 build 15025 is expected to include a fix for that.
It is available since last night through the Windows Insiders Fast Ring.

I've upgraded today and I have not yet met the issue so this is very encouraging.

Hello,
I also have Dell XPS15 with Docking Station D3100 with three monitors attached (2 HDMI and one DP).
After the last automatic Win 10 update I found myself wit the Windows Anniversary version and with the annoying "Pain Effect" that was describe above.
How can I fix it?

Hello Egol,

I'm sorry to say there is nothing you can do except wait for Microsoft to release a fix.
The issue is with the window composer and is more obvious the more displays you have.

Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working on it. There are some new versions of the OS available through the Windows Insider Program which change the behaviour. However I am not able to recommend them as being the solution... as they are not.

Kind regards,
Alban

Is there a way to safely rollback to previous working environment?
How can I know when the fix for that is avialable?
Thanks

Depending on how and when you got the Anniversary Update, you may be able to uninstall it and go back to Threshold.
When we know there is a real fix, I'll post about it here.
There is also a thread on the Microsoft Answers community about this. It is not specific to DisplayLink... It's only that we make it easy to add many displays compared to having to add graphics cards.

Hello Egol,
Yes, that's correct. I was on holidays and wished to give time test it before claiming it's fixed but general public feedback I have seen is extremely positive.
The fix is available from build 15049.
To get the update, simply search for updates in the settings of your Windows 10 machine.
Builds 15049+ are only available through users and computers registered to the Windows Insiders' Programme today. If you are using a corporate machine, you may not be able to get it.
Should you be using a consumer Windows 10, what is available today will make the official Windows 10 Creators Update release.

As an appeal to all readers, if you have multiple machines affected, please flag this to us.
We're working to get the fix serviced in the current version of Windows 10 (called Anniversary Update) because we know most corporate users will NOT get Windows 10 Creators Update until at least September (when it reaches the Current Branch for Business, 6 months after the release-to-market date).

Also, there were multiple origins for the issues seen (one symptom, multiple root causes). Microsoft has done what they could to fix them, however please do report if you are still seeing problems once running 15049 or above.

Kind regards,
Alban

Hi,
I updated my XPS to Windows 10 Creators Update and the pain effect is gone at last but now I get blank flickers on the two out of the 3 screens I have (the non-mains screens) every few seconds.
Any idea what is wrong? How to fix?
Thanks,
Eyal
