Default D3100 Does not power my Inspiron 5567

D3100 Does not power my Inspiron 5567
All other functionality from docking station working well. I would have thought that it would also supply power to my laptop, in order not to have a separate power supply plugged in.

I did not see any discussion from manual about this.

Hello,
It is not allowed by the USB standard to charge through the Type-A connector.
The Dell D3100 complies to USB standard.
You will not find any USB device which will charge a laptop through a Type-A connector.
Only Type-C introduced support for charging, and requires specialized circuitry in both the device and computer.
The Dell D6000 does charging when USB with Type-C connector with computers supporting USB Power Delivery.
Kind regards,
Alban
