Hello,

The solution has been posted. I'm not sure what there is to bump here. Would you be able to explain what you wish?

You can either use a passive USB extension lead, or a bus powered USB hub until Windows 10 Creators Update is available.

There is a 8.2 Beta version posted in the beta forum, but that's not sufficient.
8.2 M0 official release is early April, which is in line with the rumours of Windows 10 Creators Update release; whether you wish to believe them or not.

Regards,
Alban

We have managed to get a reliable reproduction with a USB analyser, so we could look into the issue properly.

The root cause is a hardware issue with the adapter design. The problem was masked in the previous version of Windows because the driver could transparently insist.
Thanks to the collaboration with Microsoft, we have managed to find a work around which has reliably worked with the faulty units gathered for analysis.

In order not to have to rely on the extension lead or bus-powered USB hub to make these USB->DVI/VGA adapter work, you will need:
- DisplayLink driver version 8.2 M0 onwards, AND
- Windows 10 Creators Update.

Both are required as the changes are both in Windows and in the DisplayLink driver.

Kind regards,
Alban
Thanks for this - how do I get the 2 things I need? I think I found driver 8.2 in beta on the website at http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?d=114
Is this correct?

How do I get Windows 10 Creators update? Google suggests it isn't being released until April 2017. Do I get it through the Windows insider program or something?

Thanks

Like others I can not find the driver version mentioned on your website. Windows 10 Creator is not due for release until April 2017. Any chance DisplayLink has any information that will assist their customers in solving the problem with their product today?

Thumbs up

Installed the Creators Update and driver 8.2 M1. Seems to work as expected (i.e. without the hub).

Hi DisplayLink team,

This issue still persists....

After 3 weeks, a brand new M4TJG needs to be manually added (it's not being automatic recognized) and the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" pop out from Device Manager.

Device Manager listed under Display adapters, with the yellow warning triangle. Driver version: DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows 9.3 M1

Thanks.
