Thumbs up 10.7.2 Seems to Help

I posted this in the Mac forum also, but 10.7.2 seems to help with DisplayLink performance quite a bit.

@creamhackered not really. It's much better now but not absolutely fixed.

Default MacBook Pro, late 2008?

Does anybody know whether the issues that occurred on older machines (with NVidia cards) have been solved with this update?

I'm talking about the issues listed in this thread :: http://displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1059

The 10.7.2 update from Apple today does seem to help with a lot of the problems users were seeing.

Please download and install the 10.7.2 update before reporting any further bugs on Lion.

We do know that the dragging of Windows issue still seems to be present in 10.7.2 and we are reopening this bug with Apple so it gets attention. Please let us know if there are any further issues you find.

Thanks

Mouse cursor ghosting is still there on display link display. if you have things in the display and move the mouse around you can recreate the effect most of the time.

Default Not yet (on MBP 15" Late 2008)

I installed 1.7b4 on my late 2008 15" Macbook Pro. While the driver does work, in the fact that my Kensington USB display adapter is recognized AND the monitor connected to it lights up when it's connected ... I still have the "bug" in Mail where dragging a message from my Inbox to a sub-folder gets the cursor stuck on the envelope icon and Mail then becomes unresponsive. This happens both with the USB display adapter connected and disconnected. I have to uninstall the 1.7b4 drivers in order to get back to normal operation.

*I have the discrete graphics turned OFF on my MBP.

Guess we're still waiting on an update from Apple? If so, that's seeming less and less like something that may actually happen. We'll see.

Hi

Yes, we're aware of the drag and drop bug. This is an Apple bug, but it does seem to go away after the displays sleep and wake up again. We're creating a workaround for the platforms where this occurs. The plan is to sleep the display for 1 second when the DisplayLink adapter is connected, then wake the displays up. This then eliminates the bug and makes drag and drop work correctly.

This fix will be in the next beta.
