Default Surface pro 3 / Windows 10 issue

Hi,

i was using a USB 2.0 to VGA pro device from SIIG on Windows 8.1 without issue. I have since then upgraded to Windows 10, and cant get my second screen to show up.

The best I've done is use the DisplayLink_7.9M2_Release_candidate version, where it showed my screen during the install ( when you connect it), however I got a blue screen of death afterwards.

I then tried to run the " skip" connect step, but as soon as I connected the cable post reboot, i got the error message shown on the second picture.

Any advice?

Hi,

To clarify, (when using the RC) do you get the BSOD straight after the message that installation has completed or was it some point after that? Is the BSOD you get at this point the first image you have attached?

Could you check if there is a later Intel graphics driver available through Windows Update and if so see if this resolves your issue?

If not please run through these steps:

1. Disconnect your adapter
2. Uninstall DisplayLink software
3. Download and run the cleaner tool
4. Install the 7.9 M2 RC
5. Connect your adapter
6. If the BSOD still occurs please attach the results of this tool

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

I've ran all the updates from Windows update, the only one that will not run / install is from Display Link, giving me this error message.

DisplayLink Corp. driver update for DisplayLink Display Adapter (02EE) - Error 0x800f0102

my Display adapter driver version for my surface pro 3 is 10.18.15.4256

I'.ve ran the cleaner tool and downloaded the diag tool. Do you want me to connect the device mid install when prompted, or hit skip and connect it after the restart?
