How to get 720P resolution?
I am using the Imation Link Wirless A/V extender with the DisplayLink software on my Macbook pro. Everything seems to work fine, but the video when played full resolution is jerky. I know it is not the network or computer power limitation, because it works fine if I hard wire the same TV with an HDMI adapter. The troubleshooting guide suggests that I need to set the resolution to 720P (defaults to 1080P). However, I am unable to do so, as the offered resolution on the Display Preferences screen are:
640 x 480 800 x 600 1024 x 768 1280 x 1024 1360 x 768 1920 x 1080 Is there some way to "force" the 1280 x 720 resolution? I know the TV supports 720P, since the Imation Link product defaults to 720P on the TV when I remove the USB sender. I am using the Beta 3 software. Last edited by krishkal; 11-24-2010 at 06:00 AM. |

OK, I took the plunge and installed Windows 7 on the same MacBook Pro with BootCamp, and installed the Windows version of the DisplayLink driver. It gives me 1280x720 as a selection, and it does put the TV in 720P mode. This renders videos much smoother. It is not totally smooth, but it is very watchable.
So, the problem is squarely in the Mac version of this driver. Could you please fix it? Thanks. |

No one else using with HDTV?
I am surprised that no one has commented on this... am I the only one on the forum using DisplayLink with a HDTV? Has anyone else been able to get 1280x720 as a supported resolution on any monitor? Thanks.
