MacBook M2 Docks (3 Displays)

Hey,

I decided to test as many Display Link docks as I could for my scenario and hopefully will help others..

My Setup..

MacBook Air 15” M2 Midnight
3x Dell U2723QE 27” 4K
Logitech MX Mechanical Mini Keyboard
Logitech MX Master 3S
Logitech C920 Pro Webcam
Logitech C390 Headset
RØDE NT-USB Mini Microphone
1GB Wired Network

Displaylink driver version 1.9 used for testing & MacOS Sonoma

So I need a bit of connectivity as well as support for 3 extended displays, originally on had two displays and used the Dell D6000 dock which supported all this perfectly with no issues, but was eager to add a third display so started testing other docks

My ideal is to support 3 displays natively without the option for (ALT-Mode) as this doesn't function on certain MacBooks especially the M1/M2

Other Considerations, I needed built in passthrough charging and the ability to connect my own USB-C host cable as my Mac is about 2 meters away from the dock

So far I've found below, if anyone has any further results let me know.

4 Displays

Targus Dock570 (Great allrounder, Expensive)
Pluggable UD-6950PDZ (Works well, difficult to keep standing up, Expensive)
WAVLINK BOC4SMCLVL (Works well, lots of connectivity)

3 Displays

Selore & S-Global BOC5LTFLQ9 (displays laggy, randomly disconnected)
ALOGIC DX3 (Great looking, good connectivity, My Current Dock)
UGREEN Revodok Pro (Great looking, good connectivity, Expensive)
Minisopuru Dock 13 in 1 (Good looking small profile, Needs additional charger for passthrough charging.)

2 Displays

Dell D6000 (Good Value, Works Well, Short Fixed Host cable)

So my top picks are below..

4 Displays Targus Dock570
3 Displays ALOGIC DX3
2 Displays Dell D6000
