Default Primary/Secondary Display Flicker

I've installed the new Beta version of DisplayLink for Windows 8.1 (Also tried 7.3 and 7.2) but all of them seem to have the same result. My primary and secondary Monitors (connected to my laptop) flicker and my 2 Display's connected via my Targus USB3.0 DisplayLink adapter doesn't work. Everything else with the Targus Adapter works (Network, USB ports).

Only way I can make my Laptop usable when the USB Dock is connected is by disabling the "Targus USB3.0 DV Docking Station" device under "USB Display Adapters" in Device Manager.

I've attached the Logs including "Advanced Logging".

Hi,

Are you using the Windows 7 Fresco USB 3.0 drivers or the Windows 8.1 USB 3.0 supplied drivers?

Thanks,
James

Hi,

Can you try the following and see which one works best?

(1) Install the latest Fresco drivers which I understand are 3.5.97.0
(2) Uninstall the Fresco drivers and let Windows Update install the latest available drivers

Thanks,
James

Yea did both and had the same issue, flashing both primary and secondary displays (directly connected display's) and the displays connected to the Targus USB Dock has no signal.

Hi,

To clarify did you install 7.2 + 7.3 on the same PC?
Was Windows 8 or Windows 7 used for the above builds?

Thanks,
James

1. I had 7.2 installed on Windows 8 prior to installing Windows 8.1
2. Uninstalled 7.2 and installed 7.3 to try to resolve problems.
3. Uninstalled 7.3 and installed Beta which didn't help either.

All on the same PC.

Hi,

Do you still get the flickering if you remove the display that is directly connected to the laptop?

Thanks,
James

Hi,

Thanks - can you let me know if you get the flicker if your directly connected monitor is connected to the VGA port?

Thanks,
James
