Default High CPU usage with latest driver

I'm running Debian 8.7 with Intel HD4000, the latest drivers and a Asus MB169+ screen.

With the screen on, DisplayLinkManager is using constantly 15% of one of my logical cores just idling.
If I start to drag windows or do some work in my normal (non-DisplayLink) screen, it jumps to 20-30%.
Dragging a window on the DisplayLink monitor makes it jump to 75%.
Watching a movie on YouTube in Chrome I get 140% cpu usage just from DisplayLinkManager!
Turning off the screen makes DisplayLinkManager drop down to 0%, as expected.

Is this a problem with my setup or is it normal? I'm using the openbox window manager with compton as a compositor. Killing compton doesn't seem to make a difference.
