Default Does DisplayLink software utilize GPU's?

I'm thinking of buying an VGA over IP from Startech.com
They use theis driver version: DisplayLink-5.5.29194

I have been trying to find out how the software works on my system. As far as I know it "works closely" with the GPU. But what does that mean exactly.

Will my external monitor (tv in my case) have the full potential of my graphics card? (NV GFX260)

I see a coulpe of threads here with people having problems with games. So I was wondering if the software lets the GPU handle the rendering, and then transmit it thought IP instead of its display port?

I hope people have some experience with this
