Default DL-195 bitmap sluggishness

So I replaced my Kensington adapter with a Diamond BVU195, which is a DL-195-based adapter. The latest and greatest, according to the DisplayLink website.

Well, on one hand, it fixed the awful coloring problem I describe in a different thread, but now this adapter is ridiculously sluggish when drawing any bitmaps or large widget redraws (e.g. even the Start Menu redraws slowly).

See the problem in action here:

I fully understand that writing USB drivers is no walk in the park, but in my experience with two different adapters, the 1.5b driver branch needs a lot of help.

Well depends on the HUB - "we've seen things you people wouldn't believe ..." ;-)

Anyways try it directly and with two different cables just to be sure it has nothing to do with the hub or the cables.
