Built-in display won't turn off (OS X 10.9.4)
I have a Macbook Air with OS X 10.9.4. It is connected to DisplayLink via USB.
DisplayLink has a Logitech Unifying Receiver (I have a Logitech wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse). And I have two monitors (DVI) connected to DisplayLink. When I plug in DisplayLink to my Macbook Air, I see three screens. But when I close the lid on my Macbook Air, I still see three screens -- why is the built-in display not turning off? I have DisplayLink Mac driver v2.2 beta installed. Thanks. |

I noticed this too, and I think it is a known issue. If you have a mini-display port monitor you can close the lid and the laptop screen "disappears" as it should, but not with displaylink - also if your laptop is set to sleep with lid shut, it will sleep if DL is connected, but not if external monitor via Mini-displayport or thunderbolt is connected.
Really to bad that DL is not the same as a physical external monitor. |
