Default WARNING: Ubuntu Unity NOT supported

Unity is NOT SUPPORTED by the Displaylink driver. You can pick one of these:

a) Unity with permanent high CPU load
b) Different desktop than Unity (actually compiz+OpenGL)
c) Different hardware

At least the adapter I have (NT 571AA) works really good. I'm very happy with the product.

But I think it should be stated clearly, that Ubuntu Unity is not supported. That way customers wouldn't have to find out for themselves after making purchases.

I got a laptop with only one external monitor possibility because I thought I could use a Displaylink adapter. Now I have to spend time testing if I can change my desktop environment or better buy a different adapter or a different laptop (again...).

Ubuntu Unity is not supported.

Default It is working on 16.04 with Unity

Hey,
had the same issues first, but some other posts suggest it might be due to incompatibility with proprietary drivers (in my case the Nvidia GF117M driver).

Simply disable the proprietary display driver and it works just fine (without high cpu load as some mentioned)...
