Default DisplayLink 5.4.26772 BSOD with ATI 10.8 Driver

Hi there!

Since updating my ATI graphics driver from 10.7 to 10.8 I'm getting a BSOD after I connect my IMO Pivot. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with DisplayLink 5.4.26772.

I can confirm there's an issue with 5.4.26772 and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and the ATI 10.8 drivers. The ATI 10.7 drivers do not produce the conflict. I've a had a buddy confirm the same on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and can duplicate the issue on demand if someone would like to debug.

I’ve sent you details of where you can upload the full memory dump.

Ok, after returning my MIMO UM-710S because of the standby and picture issues, I received the Doublesight DS-70U today. I had just freshly formatted my hard drive and did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 then all available Windows Updates. Installed the latest AMD Catalyst Suite (v10.8) and then Displaylink software v5.4.26772.0.

After installing the Displaylink software I started having continuous reboots and BSODs.

Not having a very pleasant experience here with products tied to Displaylink.

Attached are the *.dmp files zipped up plus some *.xml files that were in there too.

Not sure if there's any personal info. in these so if there are, can you please delete the attachment after you get it?
Attached Files
File Type: zip Dump Files.zip (275.6 KB, 763 views)

Hey IsLNdbOi,

It's definitely the 10.8 ATI drivers that have introduced something new. Drop back to 10.7 and the issue goes away. Not sure what ATI changed, but I've provided a .dmp file as well. Might was sent offline so it might be okay for you to go ahead and remove yours now if you've got concerns about your personal info as any of us can see that attachment...

Thanks for the info. logrus. I hope the DisplayLink team gets a fix out quickly.

I did roll back to the 10.7 drivers and the problems went away, but I want to keep the 10.8 drivers because there are fixes / improvements in it for StarCraft II.

I kind of skimmed the files in my zip and didn't see any personal info. so I'll keep it up.

ATI's release notes show what was added to the new CATALYST suite:
