Default hardware problem: missing filter against interference

Hello,

i dont know where to report this problem beacause it is not a software problem. I have bought 3 displaylink 4k for my dell xps13. All are having the same behavior at the same time: black screen, audio stopping, during 2seconds and it's working again. Randomly.

I have looked for solution on forum and knowledge base of displaylink but problem is still happening. Finally, i notice black screen is happening at same time on every pc using displaylink and this black screen is happening when my fridge starting and stopping cooling and other random times (probably depending on other devices on same electrical network).

This is a problem with interference on electrical network. Displaylink should add some filter on their devices to limit thoses interference. I manage to decrease black screen by using filters coming with powerline communication socket (PLC)

Hi,

Can you confirm which product make, model and serial number you have?

Also if you wouldn't mind could you report the make, model and serial of the product's power supply?

Thanks,
James

Well it might be due to a non reinforced hdmi link. I switch to dvi and it's working fine.

When i tried without displaylink hub i started with no problem for few weeks and black screen happens again (weird i dont understand why it did not happen immediately).

With an adaptator hdmi=>dvi connected to displaylink usb (now 2 weeks) i do not have problem any more.

sorry for the waste of time :/
