I am a developer and thus have access to the Windows 8 RTM. I have it running on two machines, a laptop and a desktop, and cannot install your DisplayLink_7.0M0.exe driver due to the "The VBScript engine is disabled therefore installation cannot continue" message problem.

I have tried turning off Kaspersky Pure 2.0, re-registering the VBScript DLL, editing the registry keys, etc. None of this works.

So what is the solution to this problem?

None of the other many software products that I have installed encountered this problem. There should be a solution to this problem, and a simple one, because Windows 8 with Kaspersky is going to be a common scenario and if your devices do not work with it, not even install the driver, people are going to dump and not buy your product.

I have two of your devices which were working reliably with Windows 7 but will have to dump them if they do not work with Windows 8. I've wasted hours working on this problem. Is there a solution?

Thank you.

VBscript needs to be enabled for installation on all Windows OSes. VBscript is used by our installation process, which is why the VB script engine needs to be available.

If Kaspersky insists on blocking the install, it might be necessary to pause Kaspersky, allow the install and re-enable it. VB script shouldn't be needed once the SW is installed.
